Recycling collections from home

Ealing provide a weekly recycling collection service form home. They will provide you with a green box and collect paper, card, cans, glass, aluminium foil, textiles, shoes, motor oil, household and car batteries on the same day as your refuse collection. Please ensure you box is out for collection by 7am on your collections day.

If you live in a block of flats recycling bins for paper, glass and cans are located in a locked frame located close to your flats making it more convenient for you to recycle.

Kitchen food waste collections

Ealing offer a kitchen food waste collections service to most residenst eligible for the green box collection service. Ealing provide householders with a green kitchen waste caddy and this will be collected on the same day as your green box and refuse.

You can put the following into your bin:

  • cooked and raw food

  • meat and fish (including bones)

  • vegetable and fruit peelings, egg shells (if you cannot compost at home)

  • dairy products (for example cheese and yoghurt)

  • tea bags and coffee grounds

  • newspaper to wrap food waste

Please DO NOT put these items in your bin:

  • pet litter or faeces

  • any kind of packaging

  • plastic bags

  • other general waste

Green garden waste collections

If you cannot compost at home Ealing offer a green waste collection service to all its residents. Ealing provide residents with three re-usable sacks to replace the biodegradable pink sacks. Please place your garden waste into open sacks and leave by the edge of your property by 7am on your allocated collection day. All green waste collected is composted.

You can put the following into your sack:

  • grass cuttings

  • twigs and hedge trimmings

  • plants and weeds

  • flowers

  • leaves

  • garden prunings

Please DO NOT put these items in your sack:

  • Soil

  • plant pots

  • stones/rubble

  • large tree cuttings

  • food scraps

  • any other rubbish

Local street recycling banks

Special collections

If you have a piece of furniture, a fridge, cooker or similar item which is still in good condition check out the Reuse page to see if someone else can give it a home. Alternatively the Council can collect it for you. There is a charge for collecting these items. For more information on charges or to book a collection:
