Recycling in the City of London - an overview
Recycling collections from home
The Corporation of London offer a Clear Sack Recycling Service to its residents. You can recycle paper, cardboard, glass, cans, plastic bottles, yellow pages and drinks cartons. Collection methods and times will vary depending on where you live. To find out more:

Kitchen food waste collections
The Corporation of London do not currently offer a kitchen waste collection service to all its residents. However it is currently trialing a kitchen food waste collection for residents on the Middlesex Street Estate and the Guinness Trust Estate on Mansell Street and Golden lane Estate. Residents are provided with a small kitchen caddy and biodegradable liners. All food waste collected is sent for composting.
You can put the following into your bin:
fruit, vegtables and peelings
dairy, meat and fish (but no meat bones)
pasta, bread, rice and noodles
tea bags and coffee grounds
leftovers and plate scrapings
cut flowers and small pot plants

Local street recycling banks
The Corporation of London currently has nine newspaper recycling bins located around the City. They can be found outside the following tube stations:
Cannon Street
Bank
Liverpool Street
Blackfriars
Holborn Viaduct
Special collections
If you have a piece of furniture, a fridge, cooker or similar item which is still in good condition check out the Reuse page to see if someone else can give it a home. Alternatively the Council can collect it for you. Currently there is no charge for collecting these items. For more information or to book a collection:

Reuse and Recycling Centre
The Corporation of London does not have its own reuse and recycling centre, however Tower Hamlets have given permission for City residents to use their reuse and recycling centre at Northumberland Wharf.
